Exhibition: The Worlds of Alice. Dreaming of Wonderland

An exploration of the world of the character created by Lewis Carroll and his profound influence on contemporary iconography and literature.

The exhibition traces more than 160 years of that history and explains why stories from the Victorian era remain relevant in the 21st century. Specifically, it places the book within its historical context, revealing how the themes it explores—fantasy, the surreal world of dreams, the transition from childhood to adulthood, and identity itself—are clearly relevant to our present day.As well as the exhibition, featuring photographs, original illustrations and period costumes, there is a full programme of children’s activities, workshops, talks and guided tours, allowing you to spend a day ‘in Wonderland’.
