Watching cranes and other wintering birds in Extremadura

At the beginning of each Autumn, thousands of common cranes arrive at Extremadura from northern Europe, avoiding that scarce happening in Winter in their breeding grounds. They are concentrated in large groups in areas like meadows, crops, cereal fields and wetlands, offering a great show with their trumpeting.  In our route, we will visit the best places where they feed. In the meadows, they live with the Iberian pigs, searching the acorns and they feed in the crops of the remaining seeds that have fallen after the harvests. At sunset, one of the greatest natural and wintering shows occurs when thousands of common cranes return to sleep to the wetlands. Also, during our route, you will be able to observe a wide variety of other bird species spending Winter in the same areas.
