Group visit Civil War Refuges in Almería

The refuges of the Spanish civil war in Almería are unique in Spain. We are talking about the largest network of air-raid shelters in Europe. A unique monument that you cannot miss if you visit Almería. 4.5 kilometers of underground galleries that were built in the midst of the war to safeguard the lives of some 37,000 Almerian residents. A monument to life full of stories and anecdotes that will not leave you indifferent. An experience to reflect and ask ourselves where we are going. In 2006 almost a kilometer of route that corresponded to the main gallery of the refuge was recovered from oblivion. In it we find various rooms such as warehouses, private shelters and even a hospital. Its construction and history are full of scars that are still visible today on its walls and corridors. The story of a people divided and forced to meet again. We will complete this very special visit with a tour of the city. We will identify those elements of the shelters of the civil war that come to the surface and have much to tell. Hidden parts of our history that go unnoticed in the eyes of local passers-by or visitors. Group activity.
