Beach: La Calzada
Extensive beach with excellent fine sand. It has a full range of services, including pedalo and waterbike hire, which offer very useful means of accessing the beaches in the Doñana nature reserve. The other alternative is to reach the reserve by boat. Horse riding is permitted on La Calzada beach, and there are outstanding panoramic views to be had all over the coast of Doñana. Every summer horse races are held on the sand, which accounts for its nickname of “the hippodrome”.
