Birdwatching in the province of Alicante

We propose you an experience that will pass through the main wetlands of the province of Alicante where you will be able to observe a great variety of birds during the four-season year among which there are two of the most threatened species of Anatidae in Europe, such as the marbled duck and the white-headed duck. We can also admire the slow movement of wading birds on the water, such as the flamingo and the scarce glossy ibis, accompanied by squacco herons, purple herons and we could even be able to watch the spectacular western swamphen with its bright cobalt blue plumage. We can not forget that the proximity of the coast makes the observation of interesting bird species possible, which also nest in these adjacent wetlands, as with the elegant Audouin’s Gull or the slender-billed gull and the whiskered tern. On top of these, we could also find other families of birds like the Glareolidae, Paridae, Remizidae, Acrocephalidae, Coraciidae or Meropidae among others.
