Birdwatching at the Villaviciosa estuary

Due to its location, Villaviciosa estuary is a perfect refuge for over-wintering bird species, which spend here the toughest months and go back to their homeplaces to breed.Besides the most common over-wintering species, the estuary shelters pelagic species running out from storms. Therefore, we might spot some different species. We observe these birds from several viewpoints on the shore and around puddle areas. We spend some time as well into some hides, enjoying with our binoculars and terrestrial scope and the presence of the aquatic birds and even some birds of pray like the osprey.Come with your family or your friends, we are here every Saturday and Sunday from December to first days of April. If you don't know anything about birds, we introduce to you to their world. On the contrary, if you alredy are a birdwatcher, you can spend a beautiful journey with us, enjoying the birds from the estuary.We provide you with binoculars, terrestrial scope and bird guides.We meet at 9 a.m. at the estuary. The minimum size for the group is two people. We work with small groups.
