Birdwatching at Sella river from a canoe
The final stretch of the River Sella, right before the field of tidal influence, hosts a large number of birds. Riparian vegetation shelters many birds, both big and small: white-throated dipper, kingfisher, Grey Heron, Sand Martin, Mallard and many more.Because of the daily canoe descents, birds are used to human presence. Thus, it would be easier for us to observe them. Besides, in the afternoon the river is emptier and quiteness will be on our side when it comes to birdwatching and great sightings.Together with Frontera Verde, and for about 2 hours, we might be delighted with the white-throated dipper pose or with the kingfisher plunging into the river. The best way to observe these birds is to remain silent and go down slowly by the river. We provide you with binoculars and bird guidebook. We also tell you about the species we watch: how they live, if they are migrants, what they feed on and so on. You can do this activity individually, in pairs or in groups up to 10 people. Children older than 5 are allowded, besides we have special binoculars for them. For such a special birdwatching activity in the river we have chosen the same canoes used for the Sella River descent. They are easily handled and an instructor will explain us how to use them at the beginning.Everyone can participate in this activity, you only need to be older than 5 and know how to swim. What to bring:We provide you with all the technical equipment needed for the activity: Life jackets, wetsuits, waterproof drums, canoes and blades. Participants only have to bring their personal equipment: Swimsuit and a towel, water footwear, cap and sun cream.
