Travelling by train

Thanks to the extensive high speed rail network (AVE), Spain has become a world leader in the rail sector. These types of trains can take passengers from one important tourist destination to another in less than three hours. For example, it is possible to travel from Madrid to Barcelona or from Madrid to Malaga in two and a half hours. Below you will find a map showing the different routes and approximate journey times to destinations by high speed rail.
