Geotourism in Costa Quebrada: The Tamed Stone

This walking itinerary accompanied by a guide specialized in natural heritage explores the close relationship between the geological resourcesavailable in the area and the uses, customs, arts, and traditions of the different human populations that have inhabited the area for millennia.The itinerary covers from the Middle Paleolithic, with the presence of Ander origin tools in the area, up to the contemporary age represented by the English cemetery, passing through the Iron Age and the Middle Ages.Different historical landmarks related to each of the present geological resources are visited and highlighted, as well as their origins. Intangible heritage elements are also included here. Additionally, the itinerary includes a variety of events and processes related to the area, evolution, providing insight into the changes that have occurred over the course of human habitation. These events and processes further enrich our understanding of the deep connection between the geological resources of the region and the diverse cultural aspects, customs, and traditions of the people who have called this area home for thousands of years.
