Cave Canyonin Valporquero
The watercourse of the Valporquero cave is located in the town of Valporquero, 45 km from León. This town gives its name to the well-known cave where the activity takes place. The watercourse is one of the few ravines on the peninsula and one of the few that is suitable for all audiences. The route runs through the underground course of the river, which begins at the tourist entrance of the cave, accessing the bed of the underground river at a point and ending at 1km from the town of Fermín and a few meters from the beginning of the Hoces de Vegacervera. The course has a distance of about 3km and 250m of unevenness.This speleobarranco has several swimming areas, 2 jumps of 3 and 5m, 2 partially covered siphons depending on the water flow and the season; multitude of small slides and 3 of them large; 6 indoor and 2 outdoor rappels between 6 and 25m. The activity lasts approximately 4-5 hours.This activity can be carried out from Easter to the Constitution bridge in December. These dates may be advanced or delayed depending on the flow of the river and the weather.
