A wish? Fuerteventura

A place to relax. A place to practice sport. A destination for the whole family. These are all part of Fuerteventura, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve island together with the surrounding sea. A dream island where you can enjoy over 150 kilometres of beaches, clear waters, exotic landscapes and most of all, a mild climate with temperatures around 25 degrees centigrade all year long. Don’t you wish you were here?

What do the pictures in this report suggest to you? Peace, well-being, pleasure? Now imagine experiencing it in person. Here we help you to get an idea, but remember that this is only a small taste of what awaits you in Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands.Relaxing with sea views Fuerteventura has 340 kilometres of coastline with beaches to suit everyone. Long sweeps of white or black sand, unspoilt coves, vast expanses of dunes… All lapped by seas so crystal clear you can see the sea floor while you swim. Good examples are the beaches of Morro Jable, Costa Calma and Caleta de Fuste, and the secluded spots on Isla de Lobos just a couple of kilometres off the coast of Fuerteventura, which can be visited by frequent boat trips.

Water sports and sailing In Fuerteventura, two sports stand out far above the rest: windsurfing and scuba diving. Its coastline is known for its winds and waves by windsurfers around the world, and the island has become established as a key venue on the World Cup circuit, held on beaches such as Sotavento. The crystal clear waters of Fuerteventura make this the ideal place for scuba diving, with no need to dive deep, as you'll find brightly-coloured fish practically up to the seashore. And you don't have to worry about bringing your own kit, as there are companies on the island that will provide you with everything you need.Other options for having a great time with sport include sailing, fishing, surfing and waterskiing.Camel rides Further inland, Fuerteventura has enormous natural wealth that is worth taking a trip to see – for example, by camel ride. You’ll pass through unique landscapes of lush vegetation and volcanic earth. Don’t miss Mount Tindaya or the Corralejo and Jandía Natural Parks. Travelling with children? In addition to the camel-riding experience, they will enjoy flying kites on the beaches of Fuerteventura. How to get there... Fuerteventura’s international airport has flights to major cities all over Europe. Also, several airlines and frequent ferry lines connect it with the rest of the Canary Islands, so it takes just 25 minutes to reach Lanzarote, for example, another UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Will you settle for only imagining it?
