Doñana National Park peace and quiet in the most natural of settings
Andalusia is the Spanish autonomous region with the largest number of protected nature areas. They all offer the chance to enjoy direct contact with nature and the rural environment. One of the particular highlights is the Doñana National Park on the marshes of the Gualdalquivir.

Covering a surface area of nearly 3,000 square kilometres, the Doñana National Park invites you to organise a quiet trip and discover its natural contrasts. One option is to take a gentle hiking route, which will enable you to contemplate sand dunes and pine groves, discover the marshes and admire the 30 kilometres of unspoilt beaches, and spy animals such as the Iberian lynx through your binoculars.
There are bird watching points where, for example, you can see the flocks of seagulls that fly over the coast at dusk. Another relaxing option is take a trip up the River Guadalquiver aboard the “Real Fernando” and see some of the most unspoilt parts of the National Park. There are also several private companies that offer horse-and-carriage tours of the village of El Rocío and the various ecosystems at Doñana. As the final options on offer at Doñana, you might choose to watch the audiovisuals on the sensations the park conveys (on show at the six visitor centres), or have an al fresco lunch at one of the picnic areas.
