Puente del Tercer Milenio
Here in Zaragoza you’ll find a renovated modern city that you’ll want to get to know better. And that’s because the Water Expo held in 2008 has transformed Zaragoza into a city of avant-garde architecture with 24 new bridges and areas for sports. When you visit the most innovative area, take a look at the spectacular Water Tower with its distinctive glass water-drop shape and its 76 metres in height. This is also the site of the Bridge Pavilion with its incredible gladiolus shape, which –like the Water Tower– is destined to become a new cultural space. Just a few metres away you can enter the River Aquarium through a natural route along five of the planet’s great rivers: the Nile, Mekong, Amazon, Darling Murray and Ebro.
In the Expo area you’ll find a cable car to take you up to a height of 50 metres over the Ebro river. And to round off this tour of the “new Zaragoza”, why not take a walk through the Metropolitan Water Park? This is an area of 120 hectares where visitors can choose between a walk around the botanical garden, rafting, hydrospeed, kayaking…
