Salamanca’s Plaza Mayor Square
Salamanca’s university city atmosphere means you’re guaranteed to find fun in the city’s clubs until the early hours. One of the city’s distinctive features is the original décor to be found in many of its nightlife venues. You’ll find clubs decorated to look like a submarine, for example, or a university cloister or a giant dolls’ house... What’s more, many of them have dance floors, and you’ll find a wide range of different musical styles to choose from.
Other places, mainly in the area around the Plaza de San Justo square, offer live music. The streets in the old part of town are ideal for strolling and enjoying the sight of the illuminated monuments. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a group of tunos (traditional troupes of student singers) serenading revellers as they stroll through the town. And the great thing is that you’re sure to find something going on practically every night of the week in Salamanca, although Tuesdays, Thursdays and the weekends are the evenings most people choose to go out and have fun.
