The Casa de la Seda was the home of the Sailmakers' Guild, or Guild of Silk Sailmakers. Dating from the 18th century, it is situated in the Ribera district next to the Palau de la Musica Catalana. It has been classified as a Landmark of National Interest and its façade still retains the original and unique 18th-century baroque sgraffito work.

The tour provides an insight into the history and curiosities of Barcelona and its guilds at the time and shows how silk was manufactured. The interior and exterior of the house, which dates back more than 300 years, reveal an elegance and sober beauty fully in keeping with the historic splendour and social status the guilds enjoyed in the 18th century, when they were at the pinnacle of their success.

The house is now open to the public for the first time in its 300-year history. Make sure you don't miss it!
