From Santiago to Fisterra, the end of the world

The Finisterre Way, part of the famous Camino de Santiago is the only route starting in Santiago. This Camino passes quiet villages, remote farmland, unspoiled landscapes and reaches the sea cliffs of the westernmost point in Spain, at Cape Fisterra. After Fisterra, the trail follows the stunning craggy coastline of Atlantic Galicia to the fishing village of Muxía. Accommodation: hotels/agroturismo (never shelter) all with private facilities

1st day: Arrival to Santiago. Fill in for Pilgrims pass “La Credencial” and enjoy the town. Accommodation in Santiago. Meals: Breakfast

2nd day: Santiago - Negreira (21,2km) You will start out of Santiago from the Plaza del Obradoiro. Through small villages and crossing ancient Roman bridges to Neigreira, a medieval town. Meals: Breakfast

3rd day: Negreira - Olveiroa (25km)From Barcala you pass along the side of a mountain, and cross the river. Climbing the Monte Aro, there is a good view of Ferenza's dam before you enter the wild Serra de Castelo and the Xallas valley. Meals: Breakfast

4th day Olveiroa - Cee (25km)The track follows the river Logosa and passes the hermitage of Nosa Senore. After this the trail moves downhill through the pine groves of Alto do Cruxeiro da Armada. From here the sea will appear before you. Meals: Breakfast

5th day: Cee - Fisterre (13km) You travel along a beautiful path, which hugs the cliffs and coves of the coast. Your final destination is Cape Fisterra with its magnificent lighthouse. Meals: Breakfast

6th day: Fisterre- Lires (14 km) Again the Way hugs the cliffs and coves of the coast. The views are splendid.Meals: Breakfast

7th day: Lires - Muxía (14,8 km)Last walking day. Down Vaosilveiro, Frixe, Guisamonde, Morquintián, Monte Facho, Praia de Lourido to the village of Muxía, and one ends in the sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca and its holy stones: the rocking stone and the “Kidney” stone”. Meals: Breakfast

8th day: Muxia. After the breakfast transfer to Santiago.
