Catalonia
This autonomous region has been the site of film shoots in:
Barcelona. An avant-garde and cosmopolitan city bathed in the attractive light of the Mediterranean. This seafront city has a whole range of trend-setting shops, cultural attractions and restaurants, as well as some of the most beautiful examples of architecture of the Modernist and 20th-century avant-garde movements. Don't miss this unique destination.
Cadaqués. This is one of the most emblematic towns on the beautiful coastline of the Costa Brava. A stroll along the shore with its beaches and coves, against a backdrop of little white houses, is feast for the senses. Immerse yourself in this destination which has inspired internationally renowned painters and artists such as Salvador Dalí.
Lloret de Mar. This destination, with its deep-rooted seafaring tradition, is one of the most popular on the coast. It has beaches and coves of transparent waters, combined with an attractive historic quarter. And by night the fun is guaranteed thanks to the wide range of leisure options on offer.
L'Estartit. The views over the bay, the Medes Islands and the whole of its protected natural area are just a few good reasons for a visit.
Empuriabrava. The range of leisure and recreation options available is one of its greatest attractions. And if we add its rich architectural heritage and the landscapes in the Aiguamolls de L’Empordá nature reserve… there are a whole host of attractions to choose from. Other places well worth a visit are: Girona, Montserrat, Tarragona, and the various wineries throughout the area.
Region of Valencia
In this region these places served as film sets:
Valencia. This city is synonymous with commerce and culture, cinema, theatre, museums, music, business... This seafront destination is home to both the tradition to be found in its historic quarter, and the ultra-avant-garde architecture in the City of Arts and Sciences. Don't miss trying some of its most typical dishes like paella, and visiting the Biopark, one of the most modern zoos in the world, the aquarium, and the 'La Albufera' freshwater lagoon, and of course its fantastic beaches. Can't you just imagine spending a few days there?
Buñol. This city is the site of the celebration known as 'La Tomatina'. Come and take part in this spectacular and high-spirited battle of the tomatoes! What's more, nearby you'll have the chance to enjoy beautiful natural areas such as the Cueva Alta cave, the Juanes river and the Cueva Turche cave. Other places well worth visiting are Peñíscola, Benidorm and Alicante.
Andalusia
In this region films were made in:
Ronda. Its gorge, which plunges to a depth of 150 m and divides the town centre in two on each side of the Tagus River, is one of its most popular and eye-catching images.
Grazalema. This is one of the most beautiful examples of what are known as Andalusia's White Villages, and make a perfect base for exploring the Sierra de Grazalema nature reserve.
Seville. You'll feel its magic from the very first moment. The passion of Andalusia, the friendliness of its people and its multitude of deeply-rooted traditions can all be found in Seville, on the banks of the Guadalquivir river. This city is different. You only have to stroll around its most traditional neighbourhoods, admire the Plaza de España square, take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage to discover its parks, or let yourself be captivated by the flamenco performed in a typical flamenco tablao.
Carmona. This is the site of some outstanding monuments –including its fortress with Arab origins– but it is also well worth visiting for its beautiful well-kept streets and balconies. And you'll love sampling all its traditional dishes.
Alájar. Located in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche nature reserve, one of the most important protected spaces in all Andalusia.
Setenil de las Bodegas. The distinctive feature of this town is the way the houses are built in the shelter of the cliffs on the sides of a gorge cleft by the river. And it's also a great place for visiting nearby locations such as Granada, Malaga, Costa del Sol, Marbella, Casares and Cordoba.
Navarre
In this region the destinations chosen for film sets were:
Bardenas Reales. You'll think you're on a film set as you tour this natural area, declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO. You'll find broad plains, vast canyons, cliffs and ridges carved into curious shapes rising up to 600 m high… We also recommend a visit to Olite, Roncesvalles and the gorges of Lumbier and Arbayún.
