This winery, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, was extended in the late 19th century by Modernist Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Its architecture symbolises the fruitful alliance between nature and human work. Codorníu is synonymous with the history of a family of wine producers that goes back to the 16th century, and who produced cava in Spain for the very first time in 1875, using the traditional method and native grapes of the Penedés area.
