Exhibition: And Fellini dreamed of Picasso
Comune di Rimini y Francesca Fabbi. Fellini Federico Fellini, VEGAP, Málaga, 2017.
Federico Fellini (1920 – 1993), The Book of Dreams (Volume I). 1960 – 1968 (dream of 22 January 1962). Drawing by Federico Fellini from The Book of Dreams, displayed in Rimini City Museum.
This exhibition is based on the film director Federico Fellini’s imaginary meetings with Pablo Picasso, which he described in his Book of Dreams.
At the suggestion of his psychoanalyst, Fellini drew and wrote his dreams in notebooks, which were published in two volumes, one in 1960 and the other in 1990. The Italian director created an imaginary realm in which Picasso appeared three times as an old friend and artistic mentor. The world of Fellini comes to the Museo Picasso Málaga in an exhibition featuring a selection of his drawings, photographs, and other documents, to be complemented by paintings, sculptures, and other works by Picasso, to show their shared sensibilities and obsessions
