Valderejo Nature Reserve is situated in the province of Álava. The uniqueness of this open space resides in the diversity of its flora and fauna.
Few people live near the Nature Reserve. In this sense, the area is practically unpopulated or abandoned, just like the towns of Vilalmardones and Ribera.

It is noted for the contrast in landscapes of the Atlantic and Mediterranean forests.
The area's fauna is noted for the presence of squirrels, hawks, golden eagles, griffon vultures and crossbills. In terms of the flora, elms, willows and hazel trees can be found. There are also forests of beech and oak trees.
