Hospital del Rey
It was founded by King Alfonso VIII in the 12th century to care for pilgrims on St. James' Way. It was the responsibility of the Abbess of the Monastery of Las Huelgas. It was first built in the Cistercian style, and later remodelled at the order of Charles I. The Plateresque style Romanos door is notable, leading to the Faculty of Law and the rector's offices of Burgos University. Inside the church are interesting 16th century wooden doors with motifs referring to St. James. These images include a pilgrim breastfeeding her child while she walks.
