Description

Fundación Mapfre offers an exploration of the work of Brassaï, an outstanding photographer of the inter-war period, of Hungarian origin, who contributed to the rediscovery of photography as a means of artistic expression.

Paris, its everyday life and its nights take centre stage in Brassaï’s photography. The exhibition reflects this fascination with over 200 items, including photos, drawings, documents, and a sculpture. Brassaï’s images emphasise the perception of photography as a creative medium, and some of them have become cultural icons and a valuable record of life in Paris in the first half of the 20th century.
