Posters for the Way of Saint James. 100 years of Camino de Santiago illustrations

The Ministry of Culture and Sport, in partnership with the Spanish National Library, examines the iconography and religious, artistic, literary and ideological representation of the Camino de Santiago and its place in the history of Spain and of Europe, through drawings and posters.

An overview of drawing and design in the form of posters, leaflets, programmes for fiestas, credentials and other souvenirs, photography and typography. The exhibition includes works by Castelao, Carlos Maside, Carlos Sobrino, Eduardo Santonja, Juan Luis, Hidalgo de Caviedes, José Morell, José Caballero, José García-Ochoa, Fransesc Catalá-Roca, Ángel and Álvaro Bellido, Luis Carballo, Ana Juan, Javier Mariscal, Ouka Leele, and other artists.It also features the results of the project Historietas Jacobeas: seven cartoons and eight posters by fifteen Spanish artists, giving a fresh perspective on the traditional iconography of the Camino de Santiago, the Way of Saint James.
