The Prado Museum pays tribute to Joaquín Sorolla, on the occasion of the centenary of his death, with an exhibition that brings together a selection of portraits made by the Valencian artist. Sorolla's focus on portraiture was outstanding, both in terms of volume and technical quality. The museum preserves 23 of his paintings, 18 of which are portraits. Many of them are now included in this exhibition, which offers a full view of Sorolla's development as a portraitist, who would become one of the leading international figures in this genre in the first decade of the 20th century. A selection that shows elements such as his chromatic sensitivity or his inspiration in old masters like Velázquez. More information
