Exhibition: Joaquín Sorolla and the Valencian painting of his time. Dialogue and contrasts
Exhibition - Painting
The Museum of Fine Arts of Alicante is joining the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Sorolla's death with this exhibition of the painter's work against the paintings of his teachers and disciples. It suggests a journey through the development and richness of the Valencian school between 1871 and 1923, with Sorolla as a special guest. Along with his extraordinary paintings, like “Valencian Fiesta”, you can admire other works by artists who had a decisive influence on Sorolla, such as Ignacio Pinazo and Emilio Sala; as well as some of his disciples and peers. In total, the exhibition features 115 pieces, with works by outstanding painters such as Mariano Fortuny, José Benlliure and Muñoz Degrain. More information
