The celebrations taking place to commemorate the centenary of Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza’s birth include a special exhibition in the galleries where the permanent collection of twelve paintings currently on loan to the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) is usually housed.

Taddeo Gaddi, Fra Angelico, Giambattista Piazzeta and Giacomo Ceruti are just some of the artists represented in the group of paintings that are currently on show at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Madrid. These masterpieces were originally deposited in the Monastery of Pedralbes in 1993. In 2004 they were moved to the MNAC where they remain on display today. They make up an important selection of the painting of the Italian school in the Museum's collection.
