An artistic journey through images of Burgos Cathedral expressed in painting, sculpture and photography from the 16th to the 20th centuries. The exhibition marks the eighth centenary of Burgos Cathedral, the only cathedral in Spain to be independently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The exhibition offers a dual tour of the image of Burgos Cathedral through the work of over 200 artists. Burgos' Museum of Human Evolution is showing historical views of the cathedral (Así la vieron) through 140 works, including a painting by Joaquín Sorolla and engravings by Pérez Villaamil. At the same time, the contemporary vision of the building (Así la ven) is on show at the Fórum Evolución de Burgos with 114 works by living sculptors, painters and photographers from Burgos.
