Colita Flamenco The Endless Journey

Exhibition - Photography,Flamenco

A photography exhibition that reveals the very essence of flamenco through the eyes and lens of the renowned Barcelona photographer, Colita. The exhibition is showing at the Sala Andrea D’Odorico, in Madrid's Teatro Español.

It is a very personal look at the power and authenticity of the art of flamenco through 70 photographs selected from the more than 2,000 images held in the Colita Photographic Archive. The exhibition includes works that capture the essence of great performances by artists such as Antonio Gades, La Chunga, Paco de Lucía, Lola Flores, Enrique Morente, Miguel Poveda and so many more.

Through her photographs Colita transmits the power, spontaneity and essence of flamenco that captivated her right from the beginning. The journey revealed at this exhibition is one that began many years ago, as she explains in her book, Luces y Sombras del Flamenco. “I’d never seen or felt anything like it in my life. Something akin to a bedazzlement and an emotion that brought me to the verge of tears... From that moment on, you embark on a journey that has no end”.
