The Prado Museum in Madrid is exhibiting 15 works acquired between 2017 and 2021 thanks to the legacy of Carmen Sánchez García. A highlight of the collection is Allegory of Temperance by Alonso Berruguete.
Most of the 15 works going on show have never been publicly exhibited. Thanks to this legacy, five new artists have been added to the museum's collection, including Mariana de la Cueva y Barradas, Gabriel Antonio Corvoysier, and the most noteworthy, Alonso Berruguete, one of the most brilliant Spanish artists of the 16th century. Other artists featured in the exhibition include Eduardo Rosales, María Blanchard and Mariano Fortuny.
