An exhibition for discovering and enjoying the work of two great Catalan landscape painters through one of their shared inspirations: the island of Mallorca.
Forms, colours, and light characterise the paintings of both artists. This individual language is expressed in their landscapes of the island of Mallorca. The exhibition highlights two particularly important works. On one hand, Mir’s Enchanted Cove, a piece created over a century ago specifically for display in the building which is now hosting the exhibition. On the other, Anglada-Camarasa’s Storm on the Beach, shown alongside a selection of works by the painter which reflect his production of bright colours and lyrical landscapes, in contrast with the scenes of Parisian nightlife and interiors lit by electric light which first made his name in the early 20th century.
