A History of Recent Art (1960-2020)

The collections of the Juan March Foundation and DKV Seguros comprise this journey through the history of recent Spanish art at the Spanish Abstract Art Museum in Cuenca.

The exhibition shows a selection of works from both collections. On the one hand, the DKV collection represents a diverse range of 21st-century artists and their techniques. While the works from the Juan March Foundation collection at their centres in Palma and Cuenca are by artists that were active in Spain during the last half of the 20th century.

The artists represented in the exhibition include Antonio Tàpies, Eduardo Chillida, Martín Chirino, Manuel Millares, Jorge de Oteiza, Fernando Zóbel, Pablo Serrano, Manuel Rivera, Elena Asins, Jordi Teixidor, Patricia Dauder, Antonio Saura, and José Guerrero.There is a virtual tour available with commentary by the exhibition’s curators and some of the artists.
