Madrid

Until 14 January, Madrid is hosting a major exhibition of the famous photographer Sebastião Salgado (Brazil, 1944) dedicated to the Amazon rainforest, the product of more than seven years of work with its indigenous communities.

The exhibition features more than 200 large-format photographs, seven films, a soundtrack composed by musician Jean-Michel Jarre and an atmosphere with the real sounds of the Amazon to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience. The exhibition aims to showcase the beauty of this natural space, considered “the lungs of the planet”, and to raise awareness of the importance of its conservation.Sebastião Salgado is specialised in immortalising vast green areas in more than a hundred countries, as well as the poverty of the third world.
