The Sierra Nevada observatory is located in the area of Loma de Dílar, in Sierra Nevada (Granada). It is operated and managed by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía and has two Nasmyth configured telescopes with 1.5 m and 0.90 m holes. During the summer months of July and August, the Observatory opens its doors to the public. With this organised visit, prior booking of the same, you will learn about the main functions of these installations. Access is via the gondola lift to Borreguiles and then in a chair lift to the top of the same. A guided visit to the inside of the Observatory of approximately one hour, complements a good summer's day in Sierra Nevada. Age minimum 10 years old.
