2011 Spain Tourism Cup Championship kickoff
To further promote the golf culture and abundant golfing resources of Spain, National Tourist Office of Spain, Guangzhou is going to host the 2011 Spain Tourism Cup Championship golf tour. The first tournament started in Guangdong in middle of March, followed by Kunming, Beijing, Shanghai, etc. The tour will be over in July this year, of which the male and female champions from each tournament will enter the final, which will take place in Spain in the end of September.

Spain at the Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2011

The Tourist Office of Spain participated in the 19th Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) from March 24 to March 26, 2011. As one of the major travel fairs in Asia-Pacific, the GITF is a very important platform for promoting travel products and resources, as well as for uplifting the destination's tourism image and for business development.

FITUR Meetings & Events 2011
FITUR Meetings & Events 2011 was held in Madrid in January 2011. National Tourist Office of Spain, Guangzhou invited several outstanding MICE travel agencies from the Guangdong province to go to Madrid and to take part in the event, where they could communicate with agencies from around the world, while helping the Chinese travel industry to explore the abundant tourism resources of Spain.

Media trip to Madrid Fusion
In January 2011, reputable Hong Kong food journalist Walter Kei was invited to join the Madrid Fusion, which attracted chefs, food critics, food journalists and researchers from around the world. During his trip, Kei visited Valencia, the third largest city of Spain, to taste the local fusion cuisine that combined the characteristics of both eastern and western cuisine. He also interviewed the innovative chef there and brought to the readers first hand news.

Guangzhou is welcoming Real Madrid this summer
On February 28, 2011, a collaboration agreement was signed among National Tourist Office of Spain, the Community of Madrid, the City of Madrid, and Real Madrid C.F.. The agreement authorizes the Office the rights to use the icons of the team and its players, to arrange advertising shoot at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, as well as issues about online promotions, ticket purchasing, and international tour during 2011 to 2014. It is reported that Real Madrid will visit Guangzhou this summer. We are expecting the charisma of Spanish soccer to be widely spread across China.

FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid for Copa del Rey Final 2011
Copa del Rey Final 2011 will be held at Estadio Mestalla in Valencia, which will be a traditional "El Clásico" rivalry between the two teams. Soccer stars have never been missing in Real Madrid - Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Mesut Özil. However, the team's lifetime rival, FC Barcelona has always been the champion in many of the recent games, which means RM would be doing its utmost to fight for the Copa del Rey title.

In the month of May Madrid celebrates the fiestas in honor of San Isidro, the city's patron saint. Bullfights play an important role in these celebrations, with a top-level line-up and a fair that lasts some two weeks, with normal bullfights and "rejoneo" (horseback bullfights). In 1947, Livinio Stuyck arranged bullfighting performances during the fair, and since then Madrid has become one of the most important bullfighting cities.

Chocolate con Churros

Prepare the cinnamon sugar by sifting the caster sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. To make the churros, bring the olive oil, water and salt to boil in a saucepan. Add the flour and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until smooth and combined. The mixture should come away from the sides of the pan and form a ball. Place the mixture into a churrera (churro maker) or alternatively into a piping bag with a star nozzle. On a lined tray, make the churros to about 10cm lengths.
