The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Theatre and Dance Festival has been held in this city on the Canary Islands since 1996.
Theatre and dance companies from different parts of the world come together at this summer event to present their latest pieces. The different shows take place at a range of venues around the city such as La Puntilla Square, Plaza Santa Ana Square, the Las Canteras promenade and Juan Pablo II Park. The main venue for the event is Santa Catalina Park.
