This year sees a new edition of the Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival. Its main venue is the town's Corral de Comedias Theatre, the only stage which remains in use as it was nearly 400 years ago.

Over a month there are a series of theatre performances held at this venue and at others around the town: San Juan Hospital, the Municipal Theatre, the old Renaissance University, Plaza de Santo Domingo square, the National Theatre Museum cloister and La Veleta theatre. The festival includes street theatre and children's theatre, workshops, exhibitions, a craft fair and other activities.
