Teide National Park
The Teide National Park will test your adventurous spirit to the maximum, because here you will have the chance to stand on the roof of Europe. The Teide peak is over 3,700 metres high, and will enable you to gaze out over a breathtaking sea of clouds spreading beneath your feet. Although the cable car will take you up almost to the summit, the last part has to be done on foot. You will also need a special permit.
The National Park offers you a whole range of challenges. For example, it has rock faces which are ideal for climbing at sites such as the Cañada del Capricho. You can also go mountaineering and hiking along the numerous paths in the Park. Your route will take you through an impressive volcanic landscape with a network of viewing points which provide spectacular views over the National Park, and on a clear day, over all the Canary Islands.
At night time, look up at the sky. Rarely will you have the chance to see so many stars at one time. We recommend the top of the Guajara mountains or the area around Parador hotel.
