Ensaimada

A typical bun from the Balearic Islands, made with puff-pastry dough and lard, and shaped like a spiral. It is dusted with powder sugar, and sometimes filled with cream, marmalade, pumpkin preserves or chocolate. It is usually had for breakfast or as a snack.
