GR 43: Cordel de La Campiña (Cordoba-Jaén)

This path sets off from the capital city of Cordoba and basically runs from west to east across farmland where cereal is grown alternately with olives.

The start of the path following the Vereda de Granada, an old Roman way that connected the towns of Corduba and Ategua and that later, in the times of the Caliphs, joined Cordoba and Granada. From a landscape and environmental viewpoint, the most interesting area on the path is the stretch running next to the River Guadajoz and its plain, as well as another area close to the Cerro Carrasco hill and El Jardón, where great bustards can often be seen, a typical species of cereal farmland and currently in danger of extinction.
The total length of the path is 65 km. and it runs through the municipalities of Cordoba, Espejo, Castro del Río and Baena (Albendín).
