A shelter dating from the time of Al-Andalus
The cave's existence has been known since the early 17th century, when it was apparently used as refuge by various moriscos (converted Muslims).
It contains a large and diverse arrangement of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, draperies and flowstones, all enclosed in large caverns. Traces of human presence dating from the Mesolithic era and the Valencian Bronze Age have been found.
The visit to the cave lasts 45 minutes and covers a distance of 400 metres. It starts at the so-called Meseta de la Luna and then goes to a room with shapes that look like a Gothic cathedral. Other important rooms are Lago de los Deseos, Sima del Infierno and Gruta del Diablo
