Madrid and Andalusia were selected as two of the “Most Popular Travel Destinations of Guangdong Citizens 2010” by Southern Metropolis Daily. The artistic atmosphere of Madrid, the passion of Andalusia, and the rich tourism resources of both places is what attracted the Guangdong people.
Thanks to the heavy promotion of the National Tourist Office of Spain, Guangzhou, more Guangdong citizens start to understand Spain and decided to discover the unique charisma of Spain with their own eyes.
Hong Kong media familiarization trip to Barcelona was successfully organized
The Spanish Tourism Office in Guangzhou and Qatar Airways jointly organized another familiarization trip for Hong Kong media in the middle of November 2010. The media were invited to visit Barcelona to explore the hidden shopping treasure and century-old shops there, as well as seeing the imaginative works of the late master architect Antoni Gaudi. The group also travelled to the suburb area of Barcelona to visit Montserrat. Another destination on the itinerary is Freixenet- the world’s largest cava winery- where the media learnt about the wine making process and tasted the famous cava.
Successful field trip to Spain for golfing elite
The National Tourist Office of Spain co-organized a study tour for golfing elite with HOLE IN ONE in November 2010. Sixteen golf clubs from all over China, including Hong Kong joined the trip, of which the participants visited over ten golf courses and club facilities in Catalonia and Andalusia, in order to better promote Spain as an ideal golfing destination in the China market. In addition to the generally mild weather throughout the year, both regions demonstrated their rich golfing resources during the trip, making them two of the ideal locations for travel, relaxation, and sport. The success of the trip also set as a case study for thematic travel.
Christmas party hosted by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong
In the evening of December 8, the Christmas Party hosted by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong provided a socializing platform for over 130 foreign guests and their partners. During the event, all of the senior managements of MNCs and industrialists who belong to the investment and trading industries gathered under the same roof and celebrated for Christmas, and at the same time welcomed the arrival of 2011.
ANTOR HK hosted a charity Christmas party, showing care for the disadvantaged
ANTOR HK, a non-profit making organization that comprises of seventeen Hong Kong based National Tourism Organizations and representatives including the National Tourist Office of Spain, organizes annual Christmas parties to encourage communication between members. At the 2010 Christmas Party, in addition to the routine entertainments, ANTOR HK worked with People’s Food Bank to help collecting food for the disadvantaged, doubling the meaning of the party.
