The tourist options for the Costa Verde feature a combination of nature, sport, and gastronomy in the region of Asturias in northern Spain.
The green of the meadows reach practically all the way down to the beach. You'll find beaches beside spectacular cliffs, with long seafront promenades overlooking the sea, broad stretches of sand, secluded coves with golden sands... Some of the best-known beaches are those of Rodiles in Villaviciosa; Lastres in Colunga; Torimbia in Llanes; Arnao in Castropol; and San Lorenzo in the city of Gijón, among many others.
Visiting a fishing harbour, experiencing the fish auctions at the fish market, enjoying first-rate cuisine beside the sea… these are just a few of the options awaiting you in the maritime towns and villages of Asturias. These include Cudillero, Gijón, Llanes, Ribadesella, Luarca, Luanco and Candás, examples of communities whose lives revolve around the sea.
A large number of surfing enthusiasts visit the Costa Verde to enjoy sports such as surfing and windsurfing. One of the most popular spots is Tapia de Casariego, although you can surf and take classes from experts along practically the whole coast.
