Interesting iron structure designed by Rovira i Trias.
Inaugurated in 1882 and its framework is one of the best examples of iron architecture in the second half of the 19th century.
Mercat de Sant Antoni is a gigantic iron structure designed by the architect Rovira i Trias in 1882. It is the first market of Barcelona built outside the walls just after its destruction and when the town planned the Eixample. It is, along with the Mercat de El Born, one of the best examples of iron architecture of the second half of the 19th century. On Sunday mornings the place is frequented by collectors of old publications, stamps, and postcards.
