Santiago de Compostela , in conjunction with other towns along the Way of Saint James, plays host to this festival featuring concerts given by internationally famous musicians and artists, where visitors can hear everything from Baroque music through to contemporary singer-songwriters.

Operas in concert format, “Express Concerts” (short musical sessions set in the cloisters, lasting about 30 minutes ), or the Art and Music programme (concerts accompanied by guided visits around interesting sites) are just a few of the options available in this festival, which started in 2006. There are also more avant-garde performances, and original ideas such as the chance to listen to a concert in a market. And all this demonstrates how music can be an example of how different cultures and religions can coexist peacefully side by side.
