There are excellent air connections between the major Spanish cities. All flights are shorter than two hours (except the ones to the Canary Islands). The main Spanish airports according to passenger traffic are: Madrid Barcelona Palma de Mallorca Málaga – Costa del Sol Gran Canaria Alicante/Elche Tenerife Sur Furthermore, bear in mind that the majority of airports are less than 20 kilometres from main city centres, which you can get to by train, taxi, bus or metro. Madrid-Barcelona air shuttle

Weekdays with over 20 flights The flight between the two main Spanish cities lasts barely 1h 15 minutes, it operates on a daily basis and is run by various companies. The airline Iberia offers the so-called "air shuttle", with up to 20 flights on weekdays for which you can arrive at the airport as little as 20 minutes before departure time.

Flights to the Canary Islands

Airplanes are the fastest means of transport to get to the Canary Islands from the rest of Spain. All seven Canary islands have airports, and the ones in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Palma connect to various cities in the rest of Spain.
