Each year the city of Granada hosts this festival focusing on the audiovisual production from countries in the south and with shores bathed by the Mediterranean Sea.

The Festival aims to provide a showcase for films produced in countries from the South. With this in mind, the official categories cover the range of fiction to documentaries. Works essential to the history of films in the South will also be projected, and the meeting of established and new filmmakers will be promoted.
