The small village of Tiñor sits in a beautiful natural setting with a prominent presence of heather.
The land in this district is turned over to cultivation, mainly fruit, although the population also makes its living from cattle farming.

Tiñor has a 'raya' on the route of the procession of the Virgen de los Reyes. During the celebration of the “shepherds' festival”, on 25 April every four years, the image is taken out the hermitage to cover the 40 km to Valverde. This route is divided into 'rayas', which mark the boundaries between the different villages on the island. Rivalry between the inhabitants of the villages is inevitable at the rayas: those who are carrying the image do not want to give it up, and those are are supposed to receive her strive to do so as soon as possible.
