It is one of the most economically developed districts on the island.
The district of El Paso is in the centre of the island of La Palma, in Valle de Aridane. Its population works in agriculture, in silk manufacturing and the production of tobacco.
The town of El Paso, surrounded by almonds and other fruit trees, boasts numerous archaeological sites and matchless beauty spots in the surrounding area, such as the viewing point of La Cumbrecita, the shelter of El Pilar, and the Bejenado peak, from where you get an excellent view of the Taburiente crater.
