Packaged grapes from Vinalopó

I hvilken del av Spania er det typisk?

Comunidad Valenciana

The vine is one of the products making up the so-called Mediterranean triad (vine, wheat and olive tree)..

It seems that its presence on the Peninsula predates the arrival of the Romans. However, they it was who spread and even protected its cultivation and left it deeply rooted in many parts of Spain. This is the case of the county of Vinalopó, where its cultivation and existence is a very ancient tradition, both connected with winemaking and with eating fresh grapes. The table grapes covered by the Grapes of Vinalopó Designation or Origin are put into bags directly on the vines themselves. They are then harvested and remain inside throughout the process of preparation for sale. This practice has been operating since 1919.
