The museum has a collection of paintings from the 16th-19th centuries.
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Museum boasts some valuable works that include masterpieces of Spanish, Italian and Flemish art. It has paintings by Goya, Zurbarán, Ribera, Leandro Bassano, Rubens, Mengs, Van Loo, Madrazo, Velázquez, Haes, Sorolla, Juan Gris and many more. There is also a fine collection of sculpture, offering visitors a panorama of the evolution of this discipline in Spain from the 17th century to the present day, with works by Manuel Pereira, Pedro de Mena, Mariano Benlliure, Picasso and Pablo Gargallo, to name a few. Also in the collection is a wide variety of drawings of all types, encompassing the 16th-20th centuries.
